Walton Arts Center: Costume Donation Drive

As part of Welcoming Week NWA, Walton Arts Center is hosting a costume donation drive during the Arkansas debut of the Tony award®-winning musical The Outsiders Sept. 1-6.

Last year, Walton Arts Center’s teaching artists noticed several students missing out on Halloween festivities because they didn’t have costumes. But just like Ponyboy and his friends, we believe that every kid deserves the chance to dream about who they want to become without a world of “haves and have-nots.” This September, we’re asking our community to help make sure there’s still “lots of good in the world” for the kids here in Northwest Arkansas.

Bring a new or gently used, clean costume when you come see the show or drop off your costume donation at the Alexander Gallery, 212 N. West Ave, Monday through Saturday 11 am–2 pm or Thursday through Saturday 5-8 pm during the last week of This Wheel’s Still on Fire: The Legacy of Levon Helm exhibit. Donations will be accepted Tuesday, Sept. 1 through Sunday, Sept. 6.

Donations will go directly to students in Washington, Leverett, Happy Hollow and Asbell elementary schools, so every child has the chance to dress up for Halloween this fall.
