Sharing Spaces: A Sunday Supper invites the entire Northwest Arkansas community to find nourishment with us through a free, delicious meal as well as an open, inviting dialogue around community & civic engagement and volunteerism.
Event Details:
Date: Sunday, September 20th
Time: 4:00pm – 7:00pm
Location: Arkansas Union Mall, 435 N. Garland Avenue, Fayetteville AR 72701
Join our students & the entire University of Arkansas community in the Places We Share!
With the renewed focus being “The Places We Share,” the Centers invite the community to partake in a meal on the Arkansas Union Mall on the University of Arkansas campus, with the goal of building & engaging community and promoting cultural exchange & civic engagement. Set up like a “king feast,” questions written by Voter Outreach, Involvement, & Civic Engagement (VOICE), the student-led civic engagement registered student organization (RSO) on campus, will be distributed among the tables to spark conversation. Volunteerism/service will be embedded into the dinner as students from the Volunteer Action Center (VAC) and their peers will have an opportunity to volunteer as well as participate.
We hope by hosting this “community meal,” we can strengthen the community’s understanding of the resources the Centers can serve as while also addressing food insecurity, promoting civic engagement & participation, and illustrating the dynamic nature of service.
